Embodying Grief + Video Practice

There are times when what is happening in our lives feels like way too much to handle, so we keep it at bay. We rely on old coping mechanisms to hopefully move beyond the depths of our emotions and not be overtaken by them.

This can leave us numb, overwhelmed and somewhat paralyzed by grief, depression or an unending anxiety.

A simple practice

In this instructional video, I give you options to come back to your body, gently and simply.

We embody our own personal mixture of stirred up emotions, history and coping mechanisms. And when we are numb, overcome or paralyzed, we suffer. Our bodies struggle to be alive, while our minds may have jumped to the future or been pulled to our past.

As you come back to your body, movement can happen. You’ll remember your aliveness. You’ll be more able to be without diminishing yourself.

Life holds depths of emotion, for sure. But your body holds incredible depths of strength. You can learn to trust yourself on deeper and deeper levels by connecting to your body and gently shifting the old coping mechanisms.
